According to Parkinson's Law "work expands to fill the time you give it". A task will always find a way to consume however much time is available, which means the real lever isn't planning better, it's imposing a limit and holding to it.
Most time-blocking tools miss this. They let you schedule the day in advance and then quietly forgive you when reality drifts from the plan, which defeats the constraint before it does any work. So I designed Time Blocker around the opposite bet: no scheduling, no auto-fill, no forgiveness. The day is divided into fixed blocks, and every block demands a manual, honest answer to one question, what did you actually do here.
That constraint shaped every UI decision. The friction is deliberate: tagging a block can't be automated away, because the act of naming what you did is the mechanism that builds real time-awareness. The interface exists to make that one honest action as fast and clear as possible, and nothing else. No AI suggestions, no auto-tracking, no coaching. Just a fixed unit of time, and the truth about what filled it.
